grd2xyz giving seemingly incorrect messages

Added by Russ almost 3 years ago

I processed a file of (x,y,z) points with nearneighbor:

nearneighbor: Grid dimensions are nx = 491, ny = 411
.....
nearneighbor: 201801 nodes were assigned an average value
nearneighbor: 0 nodes failed sector criteria and 0 nodes had no neighbor points (all set to NaN)

I then wanted to check it (no need to explain why) using grd2xyz:

>grd2xyz grd_file -ZTLA >txt_file
grd2xyz: Grid is Cartesian
grd2xyz: packed z-range: [0,5.42813]
grd2xyz: 0 values extracted
grd2xyz: 201801 NaN values suppressed

Why does it say "0 values extracted" and "201801 NaN values suppressed" when my output appears fine?
ie. gmtinfo gives:
txt_file: N = 201801 <0/5.42813014984>
