psxyz z scaling projected units

Added by Viktor 19 days ago

Hi, I'm trying to figure out how to draw line in 3d space with psxyz, the 3rd dimension being kilometres.

I think the correct option with psxyz would be -f0x,1y,2pk judging by the GMT manual page here:
http://gmt.soest.hawaii.edu/doc/5.3.2/gmt.html#f-full

This doesn't work however.

Is it possible or do I have to calculate the average inches / km at roughly the same area of interest and change -Jz?

The 2pk stuff is for x/y coordinates only as the manual says. For z you you would specify -Rw/e/s/n/z0/z1 with z0/z1 in km and then give a -Jz or -JZ with the scale or dimension you want. There is no special treatment of the z values but you can use -i to scale any column (e.g., to convert from m to km or vice versa)..
