Clarification about the -B parameter
Apologies for a rather simple question.
I have been practicing GMT coding from a Lab Tutorial by Bridget Konter that I found by the power of Google. Here is a piece of code from the lab. The code works just fine.
gmt pscoast -JA0/20/5i -R0/360/-90/90 -Bg30/g15:."Global Map": -P -Dh -N1 -U \
-G187/142/46 -S109/202/255 > glb4.ps
For the -B parameter, [:."Global Map":] plots a title. My questions is what is the function of the colon followed by the period followed by the colon[:.:]
I have tried to figure it out from the Manual but alas I could not. Any help would be wonderful.

The :.bla-bla: means that you are setting a fig title (:bla-bla:) would be an axes annotation. But you are studding the old and deprecated GMT4 syntax. You should be practicing with the GMT5 syntax where the title is set with a +t"Bla Bla" flag.

Thanks Joaquim. That fixed it.
