Issue on transparent layer in pdf when opened in Illustrator or Inkscape
Hi, I am new to GMT5. There is an issue I cannot resolve. Usually, I can successfully generate postscript file (.ps) containing transparent layers due to NaN data. It is checked by in gostview or preview software. Although the transparent pattern can not be seen in there which is expected, the pdf produced by psconvert -Tf is viewed as good as expected (transparency emerges). So far so good. But when I import this produced pdf into Illustrator, the transparent layer turns to be a pure black color layer which masks the underneath layers. It confuses me. Why does it look good in pdf viewer (acrobat reader, preview) but everything goes wrong in illustrator.
So I only resolve this by raster the whole figure. Illustrator cannot be avoided in my figure polishing because we usually need some schematic figures.
Any idea will help. Thanks in advance.

If the PDF you preview looks good then anything after that are only showing bugs or limitations in Illustrator or Inkscape. Not a whole lot we can do, but if you are able to figure out something that we can do then let us know.
