VGG data in 3D to Matlab
I would like to get the XYZ data for
so that I could see it and work with it in Matlab.
I have the .1 data, how should I process it in GMT in order to obtain the .grd file (transfer to Matlab is no problem then)?

To get the VGG data, go to the TOPEX site:
Download the data from their FTP site: ftp://topex.ucsd.edu/pub/global_grav_1min/
I believe the dataset you need is: ftp://topex.ucsd.edu/pub/global_grav_1min/curv.img.24.1
To use it in GMT, have a look at their Readme for example cases: ftp://topex.ucsd.edu/pub/global_grav_1min/README_V24.txt
For the age of oceanic crust, download it from here:
I forget what formats Matlab is friendly with, but I'm sure a bit of file conversion magic will sort that out. Hope that helps!
