gmt-6.0.0 on Debian10 GNU/Linux : grdimage and grdcontour do not work ?

Added by jean-noel about 1 month ago

Hello all,

I configured/compiled/installed gmt-6.0.0 on a Debian10 GNU/Linux environment with only few standard setup :

set (CMAKE_INSTALL_PREFIX "/soft/x86_64/gcc_8.3.0/gmt_6.0.0")
set (GSHHG_ROOT "/tmp/gshhg-gmt-2.3.7")
set (COPY_GSHHG TRUE)
set (DCW_ROOT "/tmp/dcw-gmt-1.1.4")
set (COPY_DCW TRUE)

It seems to be all right BUT grdimage or grdcontour do not work : the output .ps file is created by remains empty

Very strange. Did you run any modern mode scripts before this (i.e., scripts that starts and ends with gmt begin, gmt end? It is starting a modern mode session for some reason.
Try gmt clear sessions
and run your command again.

Hello Paul,

Thanks for your reply which helped me to get what was wrong !

I installed gmt-6.0.0 from source on my Debian10 GNU/Linux cluster but the gmt-5.4.5 suite was also already installed as Debian packages, and the demanded user had his PATH related to the last ...

Thanks again for your help !
