Description

The gmtinfo manpage says the following:

By default, this output will be in the form -Rw/e/s/n which can be used directly in the command line for other programs
(hence only dx and dy are needed), or the output will be in column form for as many columns as there are increments provided.

This is not exactly correct. The default output format is as the following:

$ gmt info -fg <<< "1 2"
<Standard Input>: N = 1    <1/1>    <2/2>
Only with the -Idx/dy option, who output is in the form -Rw/e/s/n

The manual needs to be updated accordingly. The description is certainly not clear about this.

This affects both GMT5 and GMT6.

Yes, this is a documentation error. gmtinfo has never behaved that way and has always returned the column ranges as you showed above. it affects GMT4 as well (old minmax has the same behavior). I will have a look.

Oops. I had just updated the GMT5 branch. But you can revert that as needed.
