supplements lib is named supplements.5.so when in fact the standard would be supplements.so.5.1.2 and link it to supplements.so.5.1, supplements.so.5 and, supplements.so Also despite requesting to build static libs supplements lib keeps being built as a shared lib.
And it uses -fPIC without requsting it.

Would you be able to play with this and mimic how things are done for the gmtlib?

Hm, the supplements and other custom libs are meant to be plugins, not statically built. So perhaps there is a difference here between a static GMT core library and optional things like the plugins. Others?

ah, ok about core vs. custom. Thanks.

What about its name?

I don't know what naming conventions are for plugins so will have to let Florian address that.
