Description

We often have data sets with lon, lat, dx, dy that indicates the starting point of the vector tail and its x- and y-components in user coordinates. To plot these in GMT requires processing via awk or similar to generate the azimuth and length in cm or inches. To simplify these operations, I suggest we add another modifier to the -Sv option: +z<scale>[unit]. This would automatically calculate the azimuth and length in specified units via hypo (dx, dy) * <scale> [unit].

Example:

echo 3 4 0.035 0.044 | gmt psxy -R -J -O -K -Sv0.1i+z5i -W1p > t.ps
